This is proof that riceboy-ness (Ah Beng Syndrome for those residing in Malaysia and Singapore) do exist in hip and cool Japan. Check out these R34 Xenon headlights that have been modified to have daytime running lights (ala Audi) and also CCFL rings (ala BMW). Uber ugly if you ask me.

If I see anyone R34 with these lights on the street, I'm gonna give the owner a bitch slap! Hahahaha

I have an excellent condition pair of R34 headlights for sale. It comes complete with blubs, HID ballasts, wiring sockets, etc...

All mounting brackets are in place and there are no crack whatsoever on these items. The headlights surface is crystal clear and are not faded or yellowish.

Aquarium headlights ?!?!

Oh shucks!! I don't know why and I don't know how but one fine day my headlights decided to leak water in. Every time the ER34 is washed or it rained, the passenger side headlights will leak water in.

I've found quite a number of used headlights for sale in Japan and the price is astronomical!! These xenon headlights are not cheap at all!! I've been guilty of delaying this fix and in the process has gotten some pretty weird stares from friends, colleagues and some business associates. A leaky Skyline headlights? How embarrassing!!

Luckily, my buddy at Aeroclear, the guys that refurbishes and repairs aircraft windows are here to rescue me. :P If you recall, they have helped to polish and restore my dull yellowish headlights in July '07 (refer blog entry here).

Anyway, my ER34 was handed to Aeroclear's trusty hands to fix the leakage. Since I'm taking out the leaky headlight, I might as well fixes the other one as well (just incase!).

What was done is incredibly extensive. Both headlights are removed from the ER34 and are taken apart. Yes, literally broken down to individual pieces! All the factory silicone sealants are removed and new ones are applied in providing a fool proof sealant against any future water leakage. The headlight covers are sandpapered and polished like new. These tedious processes took 48 hours to complete! Amazing!!!

ER34 headlights restoration

When I got hold of the ER34, the headlights are all faded and blurry. It sure makes the car looks old, not taken care of and sucks big time when it is viewed up front. I need to get it fixed!!!

Fortunatly, I got a buddy of mine that operates a business that refurbishes and repairs aircraft windows, aircraft canopies, aircraft/helicopters wind shields, side and quarter windows, etc....

And the good thing is that the same application/technology can be applied to automotive headlights as well. I sent the ER34 in for a quick check and a couple of hours later, the car headlights came back shinning like new. Definitely worth the effort!!
