Gloss Black Nismo LM-GT4

So I've finally decided on the colour to paint the LM-GT4s, and it is going to be gloss black. Here are some pictures of the finished wheels. I reckon with black wheels and some nice shiny gold calipers under it, it'll be smashing. 

Can't wait to get it fitted on the car. Hopefully I'll be able to get it done within a week. 

Painting the Nismo LM-GT4 Wheels

Here's some pics of the Nismo LM-GT4 Wheels being prepped up for paint. Extra care is done to make sure that the original decals inside the wheel aren't painted over.

Nismo LM-GT4 Wheels for the ER34

It's unbelievable but I've been keeping this set of Nismo LM-GT4 wheels for the past 8 months. In these 8 months, it just sat there in the corner of my office and I was uncertain to actually use it for my ER34 or to sell if off. 

The major hesitation of fitting these wheels on is that it'll make my brakes look small. My BIOT 345mm rotors up front and BIOT 322mm rotors filled up my current Work Emotion XD9 wheels perfectly. Nismo LM-GT4 wheels are designed to clear huge big brake kits hence it have ample space which inadvertently makes my brake kit look puny in the sea of space inside. On the other hand, these wheels looked pretty awesome! Pretty tough decision which took 8 months for an execution .....

It's pretty hard to find Nismo LM-GT4 wheels especially in GT-R offsets and also this FR offset. I got this set shipped back from the land of the rising sun way back then. The set I have measures 18" X 8.5J＋30 for the front and 18" X R9.5J＋38 for the rear. As evident in this picture, it's finished in the original white colour. Now, white wheels on a white car isn't exactly my taste so it's got to be in another shade. I've talked and dreamed about funky colours like TE37 Mag blue, TE37 Purple and LM-GT4 Gloss Black.

It's now time to put it to good use and I'll be updating soon on what I'm gonna do with the wheels. :)

Just got hold of an extremely rare Nismo Fashion Cigarette Lighter for the ER34. These are already very hard to source but to get one with the new Nismo type face logo is even more difficult. What it does it just to replace the factory cigarette lighter with this Nismo ones that are made to reassemble a kill switch. 

Just a novelty item I guess. :)

Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R Z-Tune in Nismo Omori Factory

Was going through my PC and found this old video that I took in April 2007 when I visited Nismo Omori Factory. Had a good look at the Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R Z-Tune when I was there. This is the first production unit (Vehicle Number P001).

Yes I've just got hold of these not too long ago and I'm selling them coz I need bigger injectors to support my mods. These have been in my car for like 2 weeks and would have traveled the distance of about tank of fuel. These are ideal upgrades for ER34, CPV35, C35, Z33, WGC34, and WGNC34.

Nismo 480cc injectors (16600-RR710)

As per my previous rant post here, the ER34 is maxing out it's stock 370cc injectors at around 5,000rpm. That is indeed not good at all.

There are a lot of choices for replacement out there from the ever popular SARD injectors of various cc to the offerings from HKS. There are also slightly cheaper alternative injectors from Deatschwerks that I have seriously considered some time ago.

Deatschwerks have a very competitively priced 440cc, 600cc and 800cc injectors for the ER34. In the end, I've decided on something "out of the ordinary". I opted for the Nismo 480cc injectors (Part No. 16600-RR710). Besides the ER34, these will also fit the CPV35, C35, Z33, WGC34, and WGNC34. If you're wondering, these retail for JPY13,500 per injector. Yes, it is costlier than the bigger cc SARD variety.

What is unique about these Nismo injectors is that instead of a single or dual spray nozzle, it has 4 spray nozzles per injector. Yeap, so in summary it is a top feed high impedance 4 hole spray pattern injector. As you can expect, with 4 sprays, you'll get very nice atomisation. These are pretty hard to come by. I've yet to know of anyone using these in Malaysia. Rare stuffs! :P

Why just 480cc and not go for higher cc injectors like the offering from SARD? Well I reckon I do not need such a high cc injector. It's good to have but afterall, my horsepower aspirations aren't that big. It's not, well, a GT-R so my power level will be pretty much conservative in a way. These should very well suffice for my needs. On the plus side, the uniqueness and exclusivity is great! These will fetch a darn good price in the market.

Hey, that gave me an idea! Should I sell these off and get bigger injectors from SARD? Hmmm ..... :P

Nismo Low Temp Thermostat

Just got hold of the Nismo Low Temp Thermostat (Part No. 21200-RS580) for the ER34. This is a direct replacement for the factory unit. Basically, just plug and play, and off you go.

The ER34's factory unit will open at 76.5 degrees Celcius (170F) whereas the Nismo version will open earlier at 62 degrees Celcius (144F).

This will in turn lead to a cooler running engine and is crucial if you're planning to run higher horsepower. With an earlier coolant circulation inside the engine, it reduces the power loss caused by rising coolant temperature during high speed driving or at the circuit.

Ideally, this would complement a aluminum radiator perfectly BUT at the moment, due to budgetary issue, that is on hold first. Got to save up for an aluminum radiator. :(

For Sale: NISMO horn button

I have for sale a NISMO horn button. This is ideal for those that have changed their steering wheel to aftermarket ones. I doubt I would change the original ER34 steering for the sake of the airbag thus is letting this out for sale.

If you have noticed, this horn button bears the newer NISMO logo design instead of the older one. I've only ever seen the older NISMO logo horn button for sale, so I guess this makes it pretty rare?!?

NISMO Sub Meter

Look what I got today. Yeap it's the NISMO Sub Meter (Part No. 24845-RNR40). This unit replaces the stock factory dials with one that displays higher readings. The readings are:-

Boost reads from 0 - 1.4kg/cm2
Oil Temperature reads from 60 - 140 Degree Celsius
Battery Voltage reads from 8-18 Volt

Installation of the NISMO Sub Meter is very simple and can be done in just a few minutes as it's plug and play. When the lights are illuminated, it will light up a very nice orange color. The NISMO Sub Meter also gives more accurate readings compared to the stock factory unit.

This unit is like-new. Bought brand new and used for a week before it is removed from the vehicle. It retails for JPY 28,000 when it was new.
