ER34 have been LED-ed masssively

Pic 1: LED Taillights + LED signal indicators

I've always been a fan of the Nismo GT LED Taillights. Unfortunately, due to cost reasons, it have been out of my reach for a long while. But looking back, I'm thankful I didn't splurge on those lights as now there's a much better alternative in the market.

Via JDM Auto Link, I've acquired a fair bit of LED lights for the ER34. They are:-

1) LED taillights with LED indicators
2) LED third brake light
3) LED reverse + LED fog lights

Pic 2: LED Taillights + LED signal indictors

The LED tailights have the exact same pattern as the Nismo GT LED taillights but in addition to that, it also have LED signal indicators which the Nismo version do not have. Another good point is that it is much brighter than the Nismo version. Yes I've heard of complains that the Nismo version is not bright enough. :)

The LED tailights are manufactured using used original R34 tailights core. This kept the prices lower but still offers top notch factory quality. The LEDs and boards are of course brand new items. Definitely a lot better than those crap offerings from Taiwan with the ugly chrome taillight core.

The LED third brake light are a lot simpler. The LEDs comes in a board and it just slots right into the original third brake light housing. Two small holes are drilled on the housing to screw in the board. I suppose you can also use two way tape but screws are a lot more secure for me.

The last and crème de la crème
of the LED lights are the reverse+foglights. Instead of going for the 'factory look' of either the ER34 (both reverse lights) or the BNR34 (one reverse and one fog light), I had mine done whereby both the lights functions as fog lights when the headlights are turned on and both will turn into reverse lights when the reverse gear is engaged. I think it's really wicked!

Below are some shots taken in the carpark. Didn't have the time to get proper shots/video. These will do for now. :)

34 Matsuri at Fuji Speedway - 4th March 2011

Check out this video taken during the 34 Matsuri at Fuji Speedway on the 4th March 2011. Almost all R34 present were the ER34 and HR34! Even Ken Nomura is there with his HR34!

How I wish we have the same sort of scene over here in Malaysia. Now that would be awesome!!

Gohtong Jaya Drive with the MSC #01

Pic 1: Heading towards Ulu Yam

The Malaysian Skyline Club had a drive to Gohtong Jaya via Ulu Yam road yesterday. Now it has been ages since my last drive (approx. 6 months ago!) thus was looking forward to do some driving. I've already decided not to push it like last time due to the ER34 having fresh tyres, fresh brake pads and also just had the rotors skimmed. Well PLUS I am a much slower driver nowadays, getting old might have got something to do with it, and also with a little one on tow does have its effect. :)

Anyway, I reached the rendezvous point at 6:30am only to see a huge gatherings of Alfa Romeos that are heading up the same route as well. As they start to move off, the rest of the Skyline chaps arrive in great numbers. There were a mix of cars from Skylines, Silvias, Pulsar GTi-R, Cefiros, R35 GT-R, Lancer Evolutions, 300ZX, etc....

How many cars? Gosh I really don't know man. It's a huge turnout!

The weather was not on our side this morning as it was raining pretty heavily on some stretch and the roads were soaking wet! It's at this point that I am glad I shod the ER34 with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrics. These were great in the wet!

Even in these adverse conditions, some of the front runners were really gunning it mad. I couldn't even catch a glimpse of them. Naturally in such a big group, the cars broke into two groups pretty soon. Those that are ahead and those that are a a little bit behind.

I stayed with a bunch of cars throughout comprising of R32s, A31s, Z31, R35 and some R34s. It's quote entertaining to watch those R32s drift round the wet corners ahead of me. Good stuffs!

The final destination of
the Cable Car station was reached pretty quick. This is where we grouped up for a much deserving breakfast before the group start to move off back home individually and in small groups. Nothing much to report on thus I'll just proceed with some pictures of the day.

Enjoy!

Riceboy R34 Headlights

Pic 1: Riceboy R34 headlights

This is proof that riceboy-ness (Ah Beng Syndrome for those residing in Malaysia and Singapore) do exist in hip and cool Japan. Check out these R34 Xenon headlights that have been modified to have daytime running lights (ala Audi) and also CCFL rings (ala BMW). Uber ugly if you ask me.

If I see anyone R34 with these lights on the street, I'm gonna give the owner a bitch slap! Hahahaha

Nissan Skyvia?!?!

What do you get when a R34 fathered a child with a RPS13? No, you don't get a child that looks like a Pulsar GTi-R but what you do get is ....... errrr ...... darn, I dunno what to call it; seriously!

Uhmmm ......... Skyvia??

Pic 1: Skyvia??

A chap in Singapore slapped on R34 rear lights and rear bumper into his RPS13 and painted it bright orange; incase it's already not eye catching enough.

From the pictures, the conversion is done pretty neatly BUT what in the *tut* is the GT-R badge doing stuck onto its rump? Oh, btw, the positioning is a bit off mark too, should have move it a tad more to the right. LOL
:D

Ok, jokes aside. I do think it's a pretty well done conversion. If the emblems and stickers are all removed from the car, it'll be perfect. I dunno, that's just me. :)

Nonsense ramblings of a R34 owner

Pic 1: Thinking......

Have you ever just sat back and thought about what you've done, what you're doing or what you're going to do on a certain subject matter?

Well of late since a couple of months ago, I've occasionally done just that. And the subject matter is my ER34. I've owned the ER34 just over 3 years now and my final repayments are due in January 2010. That's just 4 months away. After that, the ER34 is all mine. Yes every single nut and bolt belongs to me and not the financing institution. And of course every single depreciation cents are also my problem. :P

Flashes of thoughts that passed by my brain and processed by the network of electrons include whether to sell off the ER34 and get a 'proper' car or perhaps just purchase a rust bucket as a daily driver and keep the ER34 at home.

I remember a few months back I had an episode with my backbone. The bottom tip of my backbone called the Coccyx was killing me everything I tried to get up after sitting down on the floor. It's excruciating suffice to say. X-Ray scans showed something was swollen. After a week or two of muscle relief treatments it's back to 99% normal. At that time, it did occur to me that if it didn't go away, I might just had to change another car. Climbing out of the ER34 was also painful. Wtf man.

Even though the back issue is settled, it still did occur to me if the ER34 is gonna be with me for long? Let's face it, my dream is the BNR34 not the ER34. Whenever I see a BNR34 (especially white and bayside blue units), I look back at my car and it's just worlds apart. The emotions one gets looking at a BNR34 is twice stronger than looking at the ER34. But unfortunately I can't afford a BNR34. The ER34 alone is killing me financially.

And if I sell off the ER34 what could I get in replacement? Nothing within my small financial budget excites me or 'suits' my character. A 'normal' 4 door saloon like a Honda Civic FD1 or a slightlier sporty 4 door saloon like a Mitsubishi Lancer GT? A wagon like a Caldina GT-4? Hmmm....don't quite gel in me think.

Pic 2: Nissan Stagea with BNR34 front end

How come there are no Nissan Stagea here in Malaysia??? It'll be super cool with a Masa Motorsport M34-R front end conversion to a look like a R34. Uber cool!

Or should I finance another car? A beat up/older car like the Nissan Sentra B14 or a newer cheaper car like the new Proton Saga? It'll be a great car to run around in, no need to worry about parking and cheap to maintain. But then again, I could use the money for other more precious things in life instead of another car. Afterall, to and fro from home to work is just about 20km of driving.

Pic 3: Nissan Stagea with BNR34 front end

If I keep the ER34, the mods will never stop. There will be more money going into the car as my wish list is still a very very long. Lots more to go for me to strike out most of the items. :P

Should I stop modding the car? I don't think I can though as it's a neverending quest for more power, better handling and a nicer esthetically. To mod or not to mod, that is the question.

I was known (ever so slightly) to be a mad dude on the twisties since my Perdana V6 days and I still enjoy the thrills. Maybe I am getting old but sometimes I scare myself silly too. LOL

I sometimes scare myself even on the straights excellerating hard through the gears in traffic. Even sillier is that this dude somethings shocked himself when the exhaust explodes LOUDLY unexpectedly. I must be getting old. Hahahaha

Of course I can't deny that I suddenly becomes a devil behind the wheel when the road opens up to some great mountain roads. Damn I miss my touge session to Frasiers Hill!!!

Pic 4: Nissan Skyline CPV35

Oh, by the way, the CPV35 Skyline coupe is also pretty stunning in it's own way. I know a fair bit of people gonna shoot me for saying that. LOL

What is all this nonsense ramblings? I must be really getting old. Hahahaha
