Perdana Skyline ???

Pic 1: The Perdana Skyline

Spotted this Proton Perdana V6 with a HUGE Skyline sticker at it's rear end in Johor Bahru last week. And the funny thing was the car is blocking an access road, and I was asked twice whether that is my car; and to remove it if it's mine.

Don't wanna say much partly because I was speechless.

DILYSI #13: KL to Seremban via Kuala Klawang

Pic 1: Our meet-up point

Another couple of stressful weeks at work were really messing up my mood and life. In these trying times and lack luster economy, I need my speed fix.

Drive It Like You Stole It #13 was organized to take the group from Kuala Lumpur to Seremban via the old roads, i.e. Kuala Klawang. There were 10 cars that joined comprising of:

2 Nissan Skyline ER34
1 Nissan Skyline BNR34
1 Nissan Silvia RPS13
1 Subaru Impreza Sti V-Limited
1 Mazda RX-7 FD3S
1 Toyota SW20 MR2
1 Mitsubishi Evo 8
1 Mitsubishi Evo 6
1 Proton Perdana v6

We meet up at Shell Petrol Kiosk along Jalan Cheras on a very early Sunday morning (7:00am!!). Sorry I was running late. From here, Jason lead us in his Sti all the way to Seremban using the Hulu Langat route joining Sg. Tekali, Titi, Petaling, Kuala Klawang, Pantai and then reaching Seremban town.

Upon departing at Shell, I had a problem with my clutch pedal, after depressing the pedal, it got stuck and wouldn't come back up. Weird.......nevertheless it was ok after some pushing and pumping and the pedal popped back up. Hmmmphh...this gave me a bad vibe about this drive. The initial part of the drive was 'hampered' by crazy amounts of cyclists along the route. Were they practicing for some event or we had crashed into their route? Hehe

After clearing like a hundred cyclists, the drive was truly very exciting and enjoyable, the front runners were pushing hard like mad. I think we were going all out at 9/10th pace. At some point, I had to clock in 200km/h to chase the Scooby. Madness but a whole load of great fun.

Pic 3: The guys sharing driving tales.....LOL

Halfway through, we stopped for breakfast before continuing our journey. Here I encountered the same problem with my clutch pedal. It got stuck and there were no pressure on the pedal. After checking the clutch fluid reservoir, it's empty! The ER34 is leaking clutch fluids via the clutch line! Thank god for Allen to have a spare bottle of clutch fluid around. After topping up the fluids, my pedal is still stuck, looks like my clutch pump got stuck as well. Sakakida had an ingenious idea to prod the cluch pump using my umbrella. It worked, you're a genius bro. LOL :D

Note: I changed my ER34 clutch pump and clutch lines to a R33 unit the day before. Why? Stay tuned for the next blog post update. :P

From here, we head to Jeram Toi waterfalls. This place has changed a bit from the last time were here. They added slides to the waterfall! What the hell! This is the first waterfall I've ever seen with water slides! LOL :D

After hanging out at Jeram Toi for a fair bit, we continued our journey to Seremban to have our lunch at A&W Restaurant. The 2nd part of the drive was not as furious but fun nonetheless. In Seremban town, some of us kinda got lost and ends up going round and round in two roundabouts while waiting for directions. It was hilarious as well and I bet we pissed off a couple folks that are waiting to enter the roundabout. Hahahahaha......

Reaching A&W Restaurant, it's great to see some of the other Skyline owners and zth forummers like semperfi, eyong, wai88, TitanRev, etc....

From here, we called it a day and departed back to Kuala Lumpur via the North-South Expressway. It was great driving with you guys again. Till the next drive.....

A mix of Proton Perdana and BNR32 + BCNR33

Pic 1: Rear BCNR33 look on a Proton Perdana

From the last blog entry on BCNR33/BNR34 hybrid?, many have commented that the vehicle that was converted to look like a Nissan Skyline was a Proton Perdana (aka Mitsubishi Eterna chassis code E54). My old ride!! Gosh I miss that car and the purr of the V6 engine. :)

It was in fact a Nissan Cefiro (A32).

So since many thought it looked like a Proton Perdana, here's come pictures of Proton Perdana that was converted to look like a BCNR33.
I got these pictures via online forums on the net.

V•Sixers Tour de Malaysia: 50th Years Of Independence

What does V•Sixers: Perdana V6 Club has to do with this blog?? Well, the club holds a very dear place in my heart and I can't resist blogging about their latest excursion for the year 2007. The club is creating a new Record Run for Malaysia Book of Record. They will be convoying a minimum of 50 units of the Proton Perdana around Malaysia crossing 10 Peninsular States with approximately 1800km for 4 days & 3 nights.

This event is held on Merdeka Eve to Celebrate 50th Years of Independence, hence the 50 units of Proton Perdana in convoy. The event will begin on the 31st August 2007 until the 3rd September 2007. The convoy will journey through the below route:-

Kuala Lumpur - Penang - Terengganu - Johor Bahru - Kuala Lumpur

I was at the flag off event, and it's a joy to see members from all walks of life working together in full camaraderie towards realising the clubs' dream of securing a place in the Malaysia Book of Record.

In line, with the Visit Malaysia Year 2007, it also serves as a promotion on behalf of the Tourism Board of Malaysia. With all the cars fully "stickered-up" with decals from generous sponsors it's really a sight to behold. All of the vehicles are equipped with communication devices; from rigs to handies to simple FRS radios.

Below is the video I took during the flag off session. A total of 54 cars were flagged off from the Malaysian Tourism Centre in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur.

I'm very proud of the club, the committee and the members. Let the sprit be alive and the flame of togetherness be of equal if not greater proportions since the inception of the club in 2001.

V•Sixers Rocks!!!!

What's next after the PV6 ???

Well, with the departure of the ever faithful PV6, it's time to look at another replacement ride. Many sorts of vehicles have crossed my mind. Amongst them which are seriously considered are:-

1) Toyota MR-S (MK3)
This nimble little bugger is a 1,784cc, mid engined rear wheel driven runabout producing 138bhp @ 6,400rpm / 169Nm @ 4,400rpm. It's sub one tonne in weight and handles like a dream. In my mind, it would be a delight to power this car 'round autocross tracks. Yummy indeed!! It's beginning to look more and more like a "poor man's" Lotus Elise. Think about it, below 1,000kg in weight, 1.8 litres in capacity and about the same size too........Hmmmm…….

The only letdown is its just waaaayyy too small inside and the interior is kinda dated in design and feel. Furthermore, the more elusive MR-S with the more powerful 2ZZ-GE VVTLi (190hp @ 7800 rpm) engine six speeder are not to be found here.

2) Nissan Silvia Spec R (GF-S15)
This car is built to drift! The S15 is a wonderfully sleek looking car. I first set eyes on one real life back in 1999 in Perth, Australia. It has a feminine yet menacing stance to it. I have seen a couple of examples in the car yards and I loved the seating position (legs stretch out almost straight not unlike an Elise). Coupled with a six speeder, it's quite a dream machine.

The car punches out 250bhp @ 6,400rpm / 274Nm @ 4800rpm. Plentiful for stock standard! The only downside is that I doubt I can use this an a daily driver.......dunno why but just don't think I can live with a low slung car like the S15 day in day out.

3) Nissan Skyline R34 GTT (GF-ER34)
Now Skylines have always been my dream car, albeit more of the GT-R. I first set eyes and fell in love with the Skyline in 1995 when I saw the R33 GT-R in midnite purple colour. Simply a magnficant beast. But of course the GT-R is way out of reach.

However, the R34 GTT seems like an affordable alternative. It 2,498cc RB25DET pumps out 280bhp @ 6,400rpm / 343Nm @ 3,200rpm to the rear wheels. Yummy indeed. Tuning potential for the car is huge but unfortunatly, costs to upgrade is also on the high side. Nevertheless, it’s indeed an interesting preposition and I’m leaning towards this car…....heavily!
